Ian's Story

A local native of the Ponte Vedra area, Ian is the son of Jorge & Gina Aguilar. Jorge has been a practicing physician for over the past 30 years in Jacksonville while Gina has been a long time swim coach, currently with the Bolles High School. His parents ability to help improve their local community is what has motivated him to undertake a profession in financial services in an effort to have a similar positive effect here in Jacksonville.

After working with well established teams whose clientele were mostly spread throughout the United States, Ian’s desire to affect his local community drove him to branch out and begin to offer his services to all people who needed help in regards to their personal financial planning. After meeting Scott and exploring Mellen Money Management, with its emphasis on delivering truly independent advice and an added focus on college planning, it was a great match. Ian joined and became a partner in May of 2019.

Ian works with his current clients to provide the same high level of service and care from his previous roles in all facets of his client relationships. His emphasis revolves around the three core components of financial planning that Mellen Money Management subscribes to, which are: 1) cost efficient investment management, 2) comprehensive planning with an focus on life goals, such as retirement, and 3) college planning while taking it beyond how much to save, but helping clients implement strategies to reduce the total cost of college. The key is making sure that all elements of the financial planning process are working in harmony towards the betterment of his clients.
